Saw just two adults and was outside for about three hours. So numbers are way down from last week. Today daytime high was 68 degrees Fahrenheit, last night low 43.
Part of the issue is field mowing. We have about 8 acres of fields, which have to be mowed once a year or woody growth makes them impossible to mow.
Mowing requires tractors and their owners are in demand and can't do all the numerous field in our county in October, so they mow all through September.
We have left a few islands with milkweed, which I will weed wack later, but I am sure larva and chrysalis are lost. Trying to move mowing later for next year, if possible.
