I live on 10 acres of land - about 3 acres of that is a meadow with plenty of swamp milkweed - however the female Monarch that laid the eggs laid them far away from the field and instead outside my front door in my small natural garden which has a few Butterfly Milkweed plants. So basically I got to see and document 49 5th generation Monarchs hatching wild over the past few weeks right outside my door! All will hopefully make it down to Mexico! I wanted to share! I am guessing she laid them away from the field due to predators/insects. I hope to have more hatching again next year!
