Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2019

Number: 200

Two of us observed and counted 200 monarchs drifting south on light west winds in about 15 minutes time along the Allegheny Front. Cleared vantage point is shown in the photograph. Binoculars were used as the butterflies were observed overhead and up to about a quarter mile away. Some were grouped 2 and 3 together and all were moving southward along the ridge.
