I counted 42 monarchs passing overhead through my backyard, all flying due west, one and sometimes two and three at a time, between 11:10 and 11:20. I had been seeing them fly through, maybe 1-2/hr, over the last week or so, but today is something different. Every time I step out the backdoor to the deck today, there is a butterfly going through. They are not even bothering to check out the smorgasbord of flowers that I have laid out for them.:)

In this area, we have had a couple of days of stormy, cloudy weather, and today offered the first break in the clouds, with the sun even trying to peek out a bit. Winds are SSE at 8mph. We are due to receive another round of storms this afternoon.
