Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/11/2019

Number: 75

I would conservatively estimate there were 75 monarchs resting in the many pines on our property the evening of
September 11.

At about 9 AM the next morning I checked again and there they were in small groups scattered within the shelter of the branches. It was in the upper 60's and the wind was calm. Even though it has been very dry, there are still good sources of nectar both in the garden and a nearby field with clover.
