I counted 42 monarch butterflies passing overhead in my backyard in a steady stream between 11:10 and 11:20 this morning, all flying due west, one and sometimes two even three at a time. I had been seeing flyovers of 1-2/hr over the past week or so, but today was something really different.

We have had a couple of days of bad weather, thunder and lightning, wind, and clouds. Things are finally better today, with the sun barely out at the moment they were moving. Winds were SSE at 8mph.
