Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/13/2019

Number: 200

Hundreds of monarch butterflies were spotted roosting in the Maple trees on the North end of the state capitol. The Maple leaves are turning yellow and brown at the edges, so when the butterflies close their wings they are indistinguishable from the foliage. It is only when they open their wings that you can see clusters of hundreds of butterflies hanging out together.
