Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/13/2019

Number: 7

At least 7 ruby throats provided a ton of action all day long. Could only count 7 at a time but possibly there were more. Looks like at least 1 more has joined the fray since yesterday. They were continuously feeding, flying, and sparring in mid-air. They nectared on 7 feeders, black & blue salvias and vermillionaires. The hummingbird swing has been used by the hummers this year more than any other. A feeder at right side of our patio saw little use during the summer but is in frequent use now. Hungry little flyers! Last hummer of the evening extended quitting time by 12 minutes to 7:37 p.m.!
