72 degrees, with a sharp SW wind at 18 mph with partly cloudy skies on a cosmos flower. A mating between a faded male missing one half of his upper top wing and a smaller brighter colored female. Eight to ten other monarchs were nectaring in the Hopkins Family Garden plots around this pair, on marigold, cosmos, hollyhock, and zinnia.
