OBSERVED:
Adult Monarchs. Single fliers. Seeking milkweed sites and rest areas throughout each day, during above stated times.

Location Topography:
40 acres on Rte 17K adjacent to Stewart Intl Airport, contaning blacktop with parked vehicles, along with wide open natural areas containing variety of trees bushes grasses and flowers. Multiple small areas of dry, claylike soils containing milkweed along with 4-5 large unattended ponds containing marsh grasses and thrushes. Minimum of 2 small creeks run thru the property. Pines, all kinds of deciduous trees and wild flowering bushes and several willows throughout. Company installed a private vegetable and flower garden in early 2019 which is thriving.

This private area is well known among employees as a virtual nature sanctuary. Animals observed throughout each year are black bear, deer, storks, robins and birds of all kinds, box turtles, rabbit warrens and complete lifecyles of rabbits, turkeys, Monarchs, swallow tails, many many dragonflies and abundant insects, Canadian geese, ducks, red-tail hawks, crows, bats, sparrows, and occassionally though rare, North American swans in the larger North end pond. The installation of bee housing has increased this population 10 fold in just one season.
