Shortly after 10:30 a.m. I started to see I'd say about 16 monarchs soaring in the sky making dips and dives and travelling mostly in a southerly or westerly direction. The winds were quite gusty at times but it was a beautiful, warm sunshiny late summer day. Later in the afternoon I saw 3 monarchs at once flying around our buddleia bush. Then at around 4:00 p.m. one monarch came back and allowed me to take several pictures while it was nectaring heartily.
