Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/15/2019

Number: 3

I saw three monarchs at once in the afternoon around our buddleia bush on an overcast, coolish but still humid Sunday. The wind was almost non-existent which allowed the monarchs to nectare slowly & enjoyably I'm sure for every last drop of nectar available. One monarch had to have been on the bush for at least four hours! When it was tired of
hopping from flower spike to flower spike to nectare, it just retreated to our apple tree for a short rest and then returned to the bush for further nectaring. Truly a joy to observe!
