Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/17/2019

Number: 4

Still too quite when I go outside. But pretty much the same as report on 09/16/19. Female sits in tree. I only occasional see the large female or a sub-Ruby Male feeding from the Aspects feeder that we still have in the Frontyard. They must be going to more plants & maybe insects as they don't seem to be using the feeders as much as they did this Summer. This is our Resident large female sitting in an Oak Tree. Juvi's continue to not tolerate another sibling even in the backyard. So thinking that hummer has probably taken the whole block over. I was out there a good 20-30 mins. Before I heard any chasing. They must have been in the Frontyard or down the street. Another one was sitting near the patio & I was not aware of it until the other 2 came barreling around the roof line of house so the other one sitting there took off & was chasing the other 2. I put out several feeder's & they still all seem to like the Perkey-Pet pinched-waist Frolic Feeder w the flowers & bee guards removed. The female sits by herself & continues to try to remain away from the youngsters shenanigans. No males seen.
