Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/20/2019

Number: 13

A baker's dozen of ruby throated whipper-snappers today. They are really drinking down the nectar feeders. Some appear to be gaining weight. Many hummers have been here several days or more. Really enjoying all the antics and spectacular in-flight battles. A few enjoy perching in the salvias. Perfect camouflage. One perches on the hummer swing almost all the time when not feeding or fighting. Really surprised more didn't leave for points south today. This is the latest we've ever had this many hummers. Temperature in high 80's and very humid. Quitting time this evening was around 7:30.
