Monarch Waystation #299 [AKA Virginia Living Museum] volunteer reports sighting a male monarch resting from 8:50 to 9:50 am on some native plants growing in pots gathered for the upcoming native plant sale along the Fire Road. Meanwhile 2 other male monarchs were seen regularly basking on or cruising among the native plants growing in the Virginia Garden, or in the beds surrounding the Conservation Garden between the Wild Side Cafe and Abbitt Planetarium from 9 to 9:30 am. In the process of walking through the area the volunteer reports that the Fire Road monarch never moved from its shaded, cool roost while on the other side of the fence the other 2 males were seen in separate but nearby sunny beds and grass.
