I have seen no monarchs this year, and very few Swallowtails, but a friend of ours, Mary Keane, lives on an island in Pinewood Lake. She told me she has only seen one adult Monarch all this season, plus one chrysalis on one of her plants, but that on Sept 20 she found the chrysalis gone and "new wings on the ground," and assumed a predator got it.
