Here I want to share with you my exciting moments about our Monarchs which Jenna made it happen . Jenna is a biologist works at LANL (Los Alamos National Laboratory) and she has taken interest in Monarchs project.

I met her last year actually on August 25 at Nature Center when she was setting up monarch caterpillars in the cage.

Jenna brought onSept 7th the cage with2 chrysalis that will emerge. The picture shows two cages is the reason.

Our garden is certified for Monarchs by North American Butterfly Association in June this year so it is displayed by the sign and this picture is taken in front of it.
My family was all excited when Jenna showed tagging and releasing. I had very special moments having two days about seeing Monarchs in my home. To me it is fascinating and how beautiful monarchs looked fresh and new.

I took some pictures Jenna answering questions after the monarch was released. It stayed on the plant for an hour or so.

The monarchs emerging from Chrysalis is a memorable sight. Both tried to come out between 6.30 and6.45 am sunrise around that time. We had it in our dining room near the window. It took like maybe 15 minutes to come out completely and stayed attached to the shell empty chrysalis for 5 hours.

Jenna who lives near by took the cage and I took pictures when she was here. Jenna released them at Nature Center at 2 Pm. I never expected this opportunity and ask Jenna to release she her self asked me and so it happened.

The monarch released in our yard is Male and for my own sake I named ‘Sri’ as our home is named Srinivas. The other one is female and Jenna took to another friend house to release.
A long comment, but I wanted to share what we enjoyed.
