Last year we had thousands of whirled milkweed in an unused pasture that borders some woodlands and crp acres. Full of insects and butterflies. The photo is from last year. This year there were none of these milkweed anywhere. They had been increasing in number since we noticed them about 5 years ago. Last year was the first time my husband didn’t mow the area for hay because we wanted the milkweed to grow. Very strange. None. Anywhere. There was plenty of snow cover. Maybe too much rain?
