Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/24/2019

Number: 6

This photo has 4 hummers in it. 2 on the feeder in foreground and 1 on the feeder in the background and 1 on the arm holding the feeder in the background. We have had 5 females regularly feeding and feuding at our 5 feeders and the other day we added a young male. Not sure if it is a ruby-throated or another kind as many have red throats and green backs. I think we have rubies and rufius. We had a female get trapped in the garage and unable to find her way out. I had to carefully grab her and take her out of garage. She was ok. We have a mixture of 4 parts water and 1 part sugar in all of our feeders which we are cleaning and refilling on a regular 2x weekly schedule. We have 2 wooded acres and the birds seem to be very comfortable here. They will at times zoom around our heads and at times fight pretty aggressively with each other even though we have so many feeders spread out.
