Stepped out on my deck and heard them before I saw them flying about our maple trees and alighting for a rest. They were 3 females. At this time of year we have KY native asters and goldenrod blooming in addition to Grandpa Ott's morning glory which the hummers favor. I was pleasantly surprised by this sighting. We head into October well into the 90's which is unusual for this time of year since our averages are in the 70's.
