If I had to select 2 plants for the monarchs it would be the common milkweed and the Mexican sunflower. The Mexican sunflowers that I planted last spring are in full bloom. I saw 8 adult monarchs on them today. I noticed the monarchs around 2pm and watched them go from flower to flower until about 6pm. I am happy that the flowers that I planted for them are helping them on their migration journey.
