Only observed 1 today and it was several miles outside of town. I can’t believe I didn’t see any at home today. I was outside nearly all day. Later in the day the wind was out of the southwest however. It seems like they have tapered off from what I saw last year but there may be waves yet to come waiting on the right winds to carry them. From September 1 to 25 of last year I recorded seeing 568 monarchs and from the same time period this year 889. So this month I’ve saw 321 more monarchs than last year in the month of September.
