I ate lunch outside in a busy area with parking lot as far as the eye could see. Dozens of monarchs flew by heading south and flying low in heavy traffic.

Observation period: was about 30-40 minutes. They passed in ones, twos and threes, but it was a constant flow. It was the strangest place though -parking lots all around.
