Tonight in the hour prior to sunset, counted 30 monarch drifting down in to find trees to sleep. Interesting to see, no butterflies then they suddenly rain from the sky. Some hit the bush for a sip but most went to the trees in the neighborhood. Warm day around 75 degrees, west winds with gusts, still have the butterfly bush for feeding. Manual visual count performed. Oh, forgot you would see some come in then once again try to grab the thermals to continue on. Interesting sight.
