They keep on coming! Today, in changing wind directions, 1,301 monarchs were counted along the Lake Huron shoreline at Harrisville State Park in 8 hours. Here is the hour by hour count:

Weather was cloudy AM, and mostly sunny PM. Wind was indicated as above. Temperature was 56 degrees at the start of the count, and 62 degrees at the end of count. High topped out at 66F. This is the most monarchs counted in one day since records have been kept since 2010. The old record for September was 813 set in 2017.
