I worked outside most of the day and counted 22 monarchs from approximately 10AM to 5PM. All were flying in a west or southwesterly direction, some stopping briefly to nectar on frost flowers or purple mist flowers growing in the yard. I took a picture of one male who stopped to rest and nectar. He was around for about a half hour and after a bit I managed to net and tag him too - ABNB 938. He looked to have some miles under his wings and had a very small tear at the edge of one upper wing. The weather today was clear, warm with temps in the 80s, with a slight breeze from the southwest.
