Around noon we spotted at least 7 monarchs nectaring along Heintooga Ridge Road and at Laurel Gap along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was 70 degrees, sunny, and with only a slight breeze. The monarchs were stopping to nectar on asters and goldenrod. Many more were spotted later in the day (separate report coming).
