Monarchs observed flying along the Orford bluffs on north shore of lake Erie. This flight direction takes them to Pt. Pelee where they cross the lake to Ohio. Today was sunny with moderate west wind. Temp 70 F. This wind direction causes the butterflies to funnel along the lake shore. 420 per hour recorded at 11:00 AM. This rate continued for several hours until 5:00 PM when the rate dropped to 200 per hour.
