The male Monarch emerged from chrysalis about 24 hours ago on soffit of my house and stayed there. I was concerned about last night's forecast of 5 degrees. It survived and it slowly dried its wings as the morning warmed up. It is now 15 degrees Celsius. I saw it crawl on the wall and ground and then fly Southward about an hour ago. How privileged I feel to watch this beautiful birth.
