My season total is 172, over triple the number for any of the previous 4 years. The season began on a discouraging note, with many chrysalides dying in the humidity and 90 degree temps. But as the weather moderated the survival rate rose and by late summer I was releasing about 4 a day. I have two chrysalides remaining, plus 3 black swallowtail chrysalides that I suspect won't eclose until next spring.
