My friends Larry, Eric, and I counted 28 monarchs in and around the town of Harrisville today. All of the monarchs were staying low on dandelions and asters trying to keep warm . I even saw one on a rock absorbing the heat. Yesterday was rainy with no monarchs around, but today it was warmer with the Temperature of 64 degrees versus the high of 57 yesterday. Today was hazy with the Wind SSE-9-19 mph. September 1st to the 30th had a record total of 3,892 monarchs observed breaking the old record of 1,298 in 2017. This is my 10th year of record keeping.
