Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/18/2019

Number: 200

They came in on Sept 18 and, due to high winds, stayed for 2 nights until the weather settled down. There were between 200 and 300 butterflies here for the weekend, nesting in a variety of trees: Red maple, magnolia, hackberry, pine, walnut, cherry, apple, and pear. It was really something to see so many all at once...and in our own backyard!
