Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/30/2019

Number: 5

This photo was taken on 30 September 2019 at 12:45pm CST on Upper Wacker between State and Wabash.

One adult monarch is pictured, but two others were nectaring in the same planter. I saw an additional 2 adult monarchs nectaring in the median planters along Upper Wacker between Dearborn and Franklin.

Weather conditions at the time were partly cloudy with sun. Hi/Lo temperature was 86F/84F. Humidity was 59% with winds come from the SSW at roughly 14 mph. (Source: https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/usa/chicago/historic)

This was really a nice surprise. At most I may see just one adult monarch - but lately, most days I have seen none.
