I released six Monarchs that emerged from their chrysalises this morning. I have approximately 10 more chrysalises in various stages of development and three caterpillars still eating what little milkweed I have left. No rain for nearly 2 months has significantly hurt my milkweed availability. Hopefully, the three will make it to chrysalis state soon. I do not breed -- I gather caterpillars to protect from the parasitic flies as much as possible. Have released approximately 50 monarch butterflies in the past 3-4 weeks.
