Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/02/2019

Number: 20

Midday the wind shifted to the north and monarchs in great numbers caught a tailwind and sailed south. While we were driving on NE 60th Street between Hwy 15 and Walton, there was a 2 mile stretch where at least 20 monarchs landed on the damp pavement. We wonder what they were doing and why then landed, because some got hit by traffic unfortunately. An hour or so later we drove there again and all the live ones had left.
