We had one late monarch that had been found as a 3rd instar on a dried-out milkweed stalk. We brought it in and found it several nice stalks of tender A syriaca, which it devoured. She eclosed on 10/5/19, but the weather was too cold and rainy for a release until 10/6. She waited for an hour or more as the temperature warmed up, then took off toward the southeast.
