Around 7 p.m. I saw a male monarch nectaring on a butterfly bush in my front yard. It was still warm but the sun was going down and it was late in the day. Soon after I captured a shot, he flew off toward the south.
This area is suffering from extreme drought and, until today, extreme heat. Hopefully we will be getting some rain and mild temperatures in the next few weeks.
