Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 10/08/2019

Number: 5

I had at least 5, it could have been more. What a beautiful show when 2 pair simultaneously did aerials for the longest time side by side. They were moving up and down as if they were gliding. It was mesmerizing to watch.
Of course the chase eventually happened.
I had been mourning the loss of a huge Maple Tree last year however, since it opened up my yard, I can actually see the displays the birds put on. The Tulip Tree which has grown tremendously since planting, the birds seem to prefer to the Maple I lost. We had sunshine all day. Very little use of the feeders except for a quick drink. Lots of flowers in my yard.
