Signs of Fall

Date: 10/08/2019

Number: 1

several hummingbird sightings today and yesterday. One large female came within 3 feet of me as I sat at the patio table. She was feeding on nectar from red salvia. it is extremely dry here. Have not had significant rain for 2 months or more.
I keep the HB feeders out. Since the spring I have had a red jacket laying on the ground near the feeders to attract HBs. This week it has been peppered with HB droppings... lots of them. Did not see any droppings on it all year until now. So they must be migrating.
