Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/11/2019

Number: 1

I was quite surprised to see a lone monarch in my backyard today. It's wonderfully warm fall day but late in the season for them to still be here. Thankfully I have some flowers still in bloom to give these stragglers something to sip from. He/She is either a non-migrator that's still hanging around or a late emerging migrator. The colours were fresh and vibrant looking so I suspect a late migrator. I hope the winds are favourable for his/her journey and this story ends with a happy reunion with the others in Mexico!
