Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 10/13/2019

Number: 41

I watched Monarchs flying one or two at a time at rooftop level past our house, counting 41 in 25 minutes during mid-day. I live in Central Austin and have seen Monarchs use this route in previous Octobers. The winds were shifting from northerly to southerly, so some of the Monarchs landed in a garden across the street to find some flower nectar. Conditions have been very dry in our area, so there are not many native flowers in bloom.
