Mark Martin and Jim Otto with Madison Audubon Society were hawk watching one mile east of Cedar Grove and 950 west of Lake Michigan in a 350 foot wide opening from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. At least one of us was looking over the opening probably 90% of that time. Four monarchs were observed in the opening flying south. All looked to be in good condition and winds were about 15 miles per hour.
