Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/18/2019

Number: 1

I was visiting Osceola WI today. At about 4pm, with upper 60 degree temps and winds gusting from the SE at 30-35 miles per hour I spotted a Monarch butterfly in the downtown area. I couldn't believe any Monarchs had survived the last several days of light snow, rain wind and light frost we've had in MN and WI. We followed the Monarch around the corner and found a whole boulevard of blazing star some of which still had viable flowers and the monarch was there feeding waiting out the wind. It has two more nice days to move south fast.
