Standing at a window & stunned to see a monarch @2pm on sunny cool day. It was circling around the back yard & up & over a garage roof. I went out to make 100% sure my goose bumps weren't fooling me, but yes it was a monarch. Couldn't see sex as it flew off down the alley towards southwest.
Saw another butterfly (not monarch) that was briefly on a butterfly bush. Couldn't identify it, but glad it visited the garden, too.
