At 11:22 today I saw this female monarch briefly nectar on the butterfly bush then fly up into the Japanese maple tree and appear to try to warm. We had rain storms last night into the morning and, by 11:25, it was overcast, warm and quite breezy. Flowers were still wet from the overnight and morning rains.
Around 3:15 in the afternoon when it was sunny and very windy, I saw a second monarch nectaring on butterfly bushes. It was gone by 4:30.
