11 am, working in the vegetable garden, I looked up in time to see one monarch flitting among the hummingbird sage and also checking out the quite mature amaranth. The monarch remained in the garden area for only another 10 or so seconds. Again early this afternoon, also in that garden, I spotted one monarch--possibly the same on, possibly not. At any rate, I'm reporting one only.
