I cannot believe it but I just saw, about and hour and a half ago, a Monarch flying about 15 ft over my head and appeared to have rested somewhere in the over hanging maple. I had thought that all the larvae in my gardens had already metamorphosed but apparently not. Its trajectory was a straight line from my milkweeds which are all setting their parachute seeds! There's a bumper crop of seed pods out there as well!
