My first time to West Virginia's highest peak, I found this freshly-eclosed male Monarch alternating between nectaring on fireweed, and spreading his wings out to finish drying. (If you look closely at his left hindwing, you can see that it's still "ruffled", and not as flat-and-smooth as it'll be in another hour or two...)
