Oct. 29th 2019 Late morning Monarchs at the Tip at Point Pelee National Park. Observed 15 Monarchs in 30 minutes arrive from the north on both east & west sides of the Tip. Each quickly located either Goldenrod (very few blossoms left) or sipped dew from leaves on the ground. Once the clouds lifted it was a warm sunny 15°c. SW wind @ 24/34 kmh was a bit too strong for them to journey south but wind was forecast to decrease mid afternoon. Northerly wind but cooler the next 2 days.
A few basked on Hackberry & Mulberry trees.
Temps fall from here forward to highs of 10°c & overnight lows near freezing.
Other butterflies also seen, American Snout, Question Mark, Red Admiral & not pictured (on fb)also American Lady & Cabbage White.
