Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 10/31/2019

Number: 300

The robins are thick in the yard right now. I'm estimating 300 based on this picture that I took from our kitchen. The walnut grove is about 25 trees wide and 6 trees deep, and the robins are fairly evenly spaced across our yard. They are mostly on the ground with only a few in the air.

However, a huge flock of starlings just landed and chased away the robins. Maybe 1000 starlings? Way more than the robins.

The 300 is estimated by the number of birds on the ground between the trees, then multiplied by 25, given the size of the walnut grove. This only counts what I can see in the mown grass. There are many more in the grove where the weeds are and in the field where the alfalfa is.
